Noise of a solar power dc-ac inverter on a sunny day. A static hum with some kind of a rhythmic modulation. Sometimes other noises like a bird singing outside, however mostly the pure sound of the inverter. Recorded x/y stereo with at4041 mics into a pmd661 recorder. Eqed in fabfilter, there used to be a sine beep at 15. 8khz, inaudible for many people but it would have been even more annoying for those who can still hear it.

Very first field recording and upload. Morning san francisco commute: walk from nopa apartment past lone mountain to bus line 33 at arguello and balboa, bus ride to the mission district, walk through the mission to office building. City sounds, cars passing, birds chirping, bus stop, electric bus, ticket, electronic voice announcements. Iphone 6 using the voice memos app.

Something went wrong with the audio! first i was going to record the sound of the wind. I placed the equipment, checked the audio and left. As i came back i realized that the audio file is full of interference!first i was quite angry about it, but then i thought that it is a pretty good sound effect!.

Two-pole circuit breaker recorded held in my hand, also pressed against a wooden board for more resonance. And some rattling mechanical handling noises at the end. Useful as electrical switch click. 96 khz, 32-bit float. Tlm-103 mic straight into pro tools. The only processing is a mild gate. At least it has a good noise floor.

Scenario: dog is given a treat on a tempered-glass dinner plate, which he licks clean. Plate remains on the no-nap outdoor carpet, unnoticed, because it isn't terribly important that it be picked up right away. In the meantime the wrapped-up power cord to a shop vac falls to the floor, right next to it. As i walk by i accidentally kick the electrical plug, striking the plate. Woww gotta record that. . .

An old guitar recording that served as a sample to my music track dreaming of places that don't exist ( https://soundcloud. Com/headshock-1/dreaming-of-places-that-dont-exist). Direct recording of my jackson sl-3 soloist electric guitar through a line 6 pod x3, using its internal reverb effects. (large hall reverb with decay at 99%, or maybe even 100% for that endless washed out effect).

By manuel de falla. Not the complete song. I love this song on a classical guitar,(and i love to fish) but wanted to try it my way. No set tempo with some fermatas. Recorded with my squire telecaster and squire mini-bass through the focusrite interface and walrus slo pedal on 'dream setting. 'guitar is triple tracked and bass is single track. Edited in reaper. Please comment on what you may use it for. Thanks. :-).

This is a simple loop of me playing some nice triplet delay textures on guitar. This is a stereo file with 2 guitars panned on the right and left, playing the same pattern in different octaves, offering a nice atmosphere. This was recorded with a hagstrom f200p (awesome p90 style pickups) on a voxac15, using a boss dd7 for the delay and a beheringer reverb unit (yeah, i love the lo-fi sound of that cheap box!).

Fireworks recorded amidst the buildings of an apartment complex. Lowpassed around 1khz. Slightly expanded dynamic range. I cut as many incidental noises as i could hear on my headphones (cars, neighbors, etc) but there's still some residual hum from an electrical box that was nearby as well as wind. An elderly bathroom extractor fan is switched on with the lights, left running, switched off and eventually cuts out automatically. Its bearings might be about to pack up, or there's something catching the blades, or both! the start was surprisingly noisy so the file has been hard limited to -1db. Recorded with a sony pcm-m10.

A test recording of a top-loading washing machine accelerating to 1000rpm on its final spin cycle. Note that it's not as high-quality as i would've liked, but i'll try again soon. Recorded with an oppo reno 8 lite 5g phone and edited with audacity. You may also hear birds chirping, which i had trouble editing out with this recording. The machine in question is a fisher & paykel quicksmart 5. 5kg (mw513) running on 240v 50hz power. This machine utilises a "direct drive" bldc motor instead of the traditional induction motor and pulley.

Switch flip #2. Modify/use however you want. Recorded with a zoom h4n using built-in stereo mics. Edited & processed with fl studio 11 & edison. Recorded at an inactive ski-lift. Technically the original sound was not a switch, it was a rain-proof cover on a power outlet. If you use this in anything, please put it in the comments, me and other people may want to check it out!.

Danse macabre by Saint-Saëns performed by the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra under Leopold Stokowski. "Record date is 4/29/1925, with master numbers CVE-27929 and CVE-27930. Also, the subtle "VE" stamp reveals this to be an early electrical recording. It doesn't have quite the brilliance of the 1927 and -28 Victor productions, but still captures the violins nicely. Victor 6505-A and B, concatenated from the original 2 sides."

Tiny waves lapping the quartzite pebbles (1-2cm diameter) on a beach at lake pedder. Recorded 21 march 2019, 3am, with the internal mics on a marantz pmd661. For noise reduction, capture a noise print around 0. 09. Exceptionally quiet night, no wind, no other sounds. The gordon river power station was 20 kms distant. Other mechanical equipment or vehicles greater then 50 kms. I could just perceive the electrical hum from the station (or from transmission lines), and so could my partner, but i can’t hear it on the recording. See also "tiny waves lapping #1".

This is a digitally synthesized version of the sound produced by current choppers on board the "jeumont element 041/042 train" used in the montreal metro. It is a five-note sequence of tones (90 hz, 120 hz, 180 hz, 240 hz, 360 hz) produced as the train accelerates out of the station. I could not make a recording of the actual jeumont train as the train was scrapped in 2018, which was before i even made my account!.

A short journey on london overground train from dalston to highbury and islington passing through canonbury. Recording includes ticket barrier noises, doors opening and closing and general announcements. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is some processing to this recording to ‘normalize’ the levels and light eq-ing. I do not require any credit or attribution. If any of these sounds have been of help, and you are feeling charitable, please do consider donating to freesound to help keep the site running (a link is also on the home page). Br class 319 with gec g315bz (gto thyristor) traction motor departing from a standstill, recorded from the centre of the pantograph car. The clip starts with an idle hum, followed by muffled closing doors and power being applied. The hum grows and varies in tone on initial departure, and is joined by an electrical buzz and the echoing high-pitched sound of the traction motor off the surrounding valley. The clip ends with power being removed as the train approaches a station, and crosses a set of points. Note: there is one muffled station announcement within this clip.
